Discover Art Around You! - The Photo Album

The community is invited to participate in a "treasure hunt" with the object of locating all 10 photos from "The Photo Album" by artist Jon Rubin. The Foundation is offering a limited number of small prizes to the first individuals to find and report the location of all 10 photos in this unique art project. Prizes will be awarded and the winners announced at the closing of our six-week celebration of public art, "Dublin does Art."

By sponsoring this "treasure hunt" and awarding prizes, the Foundation hopes to inspire the residents of Dublin to look more closely at the visual landscape of their community to discover the unexpected "art" around them as they make their way through their daily lives.

Jon Rubin, the artist, has stated that taking intimate photos out of family albums and re-presenting them in the unusual context of the family's own front lawn, challenges the sometimes anonymous quality of public space by reflecting the unique personal lives that reside just under the surface of every community.
