"The Photo Album - Art in
Real Life"; August 22 - October 3, 2004
Artist Jon Rubin has been commissioned to create a new, temporary project
involving the entire community of Dublin. Rubin has engaged Dublin's diverse
population by selecting snapshots from family photo albums which will
be enlarged and displayed on those families' front lawns. The photos serve
to bring awareness to the beauty and creativity involved in our everyday
lives.

"Art at the Movies"; Dublin Library,
200 Civic Plaza on Mondays at 7 p.m. Starting August 23 and continuing
August 30 and September 13, 20, and 27.
"Rivers and Tides; Andy Goldsworthy Working With Time." This
poetic and compelling documentary film about Andrew Goldsworthy, a British
artist who works directly with nature, using only natural materials --
stones, ice, twigs, reeds, and flowers -- is an inspiring revelation of
the artistic process
"Youth Making Art at the Crossings";
Hacienda Crossings, Saturday, September 11, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Dublin youth are invited to participate in "Youth making Art at the
Crossings," a mural-making project guided by the artists David Galvez
and John Wehrle. Their murals will be displayed in the Hacienda Crossings
plaza through October 3.
"Plein Air Paint Out at the Crossings";
Hacienda Crossings, October 2, 2004 ; 2 - 5 p.m.
Members of the community will be invited to bring their easels, paints,
and palettes to the plaza for an afternoon outdoor painting marathon,
aided and abetted by a team of local artists, Marc Mascot, Bruce Ruark,
Lynne Shephard, Pat Smith, and Diane Taasevigen, who'll circulate among
them, offering advice, encouragement, and counsel. Local Artists and Community.
