Formed in 1988, the Dublin Fine Arts Foundation (DFAF) is a private, nonprofit organization composed of individuals who share the vision that fine arts enrich the Dublin community.

Beginning with the commissioning and installation of "GAIA," an eight-foot mosaic globe by artist Ned Smyth for the new Civic Center in 1990, more than 50 works of art have since been acquired for permanent installation, long-term loan or temporary exhibits in and around the Civic Center and the Dublin community. As well, DFAF also has public art installations and programs in both the parks and schools, making Dublin "the city that does the most."

The Dublin Fine Arts Foundation, in cooperation and partnership with the City of Dublin, and other community organizations, has been placing art in public spaces for the last 14 years, making Dublin, per capita, a major center for public art in the Tri Valley area.
